Limited Edition: 20th-Anniversary amenity kits on board Etihad Airways

  • by

Etihad Airways is now 20 years old. The inaugural flight took off to Beirut on 12 November 2003. The airline has been celebrating the end of its second decade with several initiatives, including limited-edition amenity kits.

A lot has changed in twenty years. Today, Etihad Airways flies to over 70 destinations across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and North America, with more new routes set to launch in 2024.

The limited edition amenity kits are on board in First, Business and Economy Class. The First and Business Class kits have a retro-style design inspired by the original iconic red and gold livery.

The Business Class amenity kit

Etihad has partnered with British luxury skincare brand ESPA for the skincare products in the premium amenity kits. It is a good fit as ESPA focuses on natural ingredients in its products. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of a face mist, which is very helpful to have on long-haul flights. I do not recall one being included in any previous Business Class kits.

The Business Class amenity kit feels packed. Inside, you will find:

  • Retro style eye-mask
  • Socks
  • ESPA Hand & Body Lotion
  • ESPA lip balm
  • ESPA Face Mist
  • Socks
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Ear plugs
  • Four sanitising wipes

History of Etihad Airways

There is also a cute leaflet offering a potted history of Etihad Airways with a QR code to learn more. The QR code links to a mini-site with a detailed history of Etihad Airways, including lots of great photos.

Etihad upgraded the Wi-Fi plan to unlimited data plus free chat for Etihad Guest members.

Conclusion

Etihad has always had a good amenity kit game; these 20th-anniversary kits are no exception. I still love spotting the ‘destination’ theme designs around Abu Dhabi. People are still using those amenity kits years after they were onboard.

I don’t know how long the 20th-anniversary limited edition amenity kits will be on board. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.
