Etihad Airways has revealed a new safety video. The video showcases the stunning design and architecture of the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum.
Etihad has a longstanding partnership with the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Hala, the airline’s destination management company, collaborates with the museum to offer bespoke tour packages of Abu Dhabi.
The choice of the Louvre also reflects the direction the future of the airline is heading. Etihad Airways is now clearly focused on the mission of bringing people to and from Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi has ambitious target to increase the number of international visitors to the Emirate. Etihad’s revamped destination content is doing a good job at selling Abu Dhabi as an enticing destination.
That is a job that will get progressively easier as more countries are added to the Green List allowing quarantine free entry to Abu Dhabi.
The new video is being gradually rolled out starting with the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners in April 2021.
What is not in the safety video
What is sadly missing from the new safety video is any reference to the A380, The Residence or the First Apartments.
This is just one more indication that the A380 is unlikely to ever fly again for Etihad. The future of long haul travel on Etihad will be onboard either an 787 Dreamliner or eventually an Airbus A350.
Back in 2017 Etihad celebrated the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi with a spectacular A380 flyover. The video never gets old.
In short
Etihad’s new safety video filmed at the Louvre Abu Dhabi can be seen onboard from April 2021.
