Etihad Airways announces 31 new destinations in 2025

At the start of the year, it was ten. Then 13. And now, with only two months left of 2025, Etihad Airways has revealed plans to add 31 new destinations to its route network. All of these new routes are available to book now on Etihad.com.

The 31 new destinations are:

  • Algiers
  • Almaty
  • Atlanta
  • Baku
  • Bucharest
  • Charlotte
  • Chiang Mai
  • Damascus
  • Hanoi
  • Hong Kong
  • Kabul
  • Kazan
  • Krabi
  • Krakow
  • Medan
  • Medina
  • Palma de Mallorca
  • Peshawar
  • Phnom Penh
  • Prague
  • Salalah
  • Sochi
  • Taipei
  • Tashkent
  • Tblisi
  • Tunis
  • Warsaw
  • Yerevan
  • Zanzibar

How are all these new routes possible?

The expansion is made possible in part by the delivery of new aircraft.

This summer, Etihad will start receiving new A321LR aircraft. These planes will enter service over the summer and are expected to feature 14 lie-flat suites in Business Class.

The airline has also recently received its sixth A350 delivery with another 14 still to come.

In 2025, two additional Etihad A380s, returned to service taking the fleet to seven aircraft. A further two A380s will return to the Etihad fleet by January 2026 freeing up 787 aircraft to fly some of the new routes announced.  

Addis Ababa (ADD)

Etihad Airways will introduce daily flights to Addis Ababa starting 8 October 2025. The route will be served by an A320. The addition of Addis Ababa is part of a new strategic partnership with Ethiopian Airlines that is likely to see Etihad codesharing on routes throughout Africa.     

Al Alamein (DBB)

The new route to Al Alamein on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast will launch on 17 July 2025. The flights will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays with an A320 aircraft.

Algiers (ALG)

Flights to Algiers will commence on 7 November 2025. The route will operate four times weekly with one of Etihad’s new A321LR aircraft. The planes are expected to have a new lie-flat seat in Business Class.  

Atlanta (ATL)

Flights to Atlanta will start on 2 July 2025. The route will operate four times per week with an A350. This will be Etihad’s fifth destination in the United States. Passengers travelling in Business Class and Etihad Guest Platinum Tier members can use the new US Preclearance Lounge, which opened in January 2025.

Charlotte (CLT)

The route to Charlotte will operate four times weekly with flights set to begin on 4 May 2026 aboard Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This will be Etihad’s sixth destination in the United States. Business Class passengers and Etihad Guest Platinum Tier members can use the new US Preclearance Lounge, which opened in January 2025.

Chiang Mai (CNX)

The route to Chiang Mai will launch on 3 November 2025. Flights will operate four times per week with an A321LR aircraft.

Hanoi (HAN)

Flights to Hanoi commence on 3 November 2025. The route will operate daily with an A321LR aircraft.

Hong Kong (HKG)

The route to Hong Kong will resume on 3 November 2025. The route will operate five times per week with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Kabul (KBL)

Flights to Kabul commence on 18 December 2025. The new service will operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A320 with eight Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats. Read the full details here.

Krabi (KBV)

The route to Krabi will launch on 9 October 2025. The flight will operate daily with an A321LR aircraft.

Medan (KNO)

Flights to Medan, the capital of North Sumatra, will start on 2 October 2025. The route will operate three times a week with an A321LR aircraft.

Peshawar (PEW)

Flights to Bacha Khan International Airport (PEW) in Peshawar will start on 29 September 2025. The route will initially operate five times a week with an A320 aircraft before increasing to daily service from 22 November 2025.

Phnom Penh (PNH)

The route to Phnom Penh will launch on 3 October 2025. Flights will operate five times per week with an A321LR aircraft.

Prague (PRG)

Flights to Prague commence on 2 June 2025. The route will operate four times per week with a 787 Dreamliner.

Sochi (AER)

Flights to Sochi (AER) will debut on 29 May 2025. The route will operate three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday using an A320 aircraft. Read our post on the new route to Sochi here.

Taipei (TPE)

The route to Taipai will launch on 7 September 2025. The flight will operate daily with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Tunis (TUN)

Flights to Tunis will start on 1 November 2025. The route will operate three times per week with an A321LR aircraft.

Warsaw (WAW)

The route to Warsaw will launch on 3 June 2025. The flights will operate four times per week with a 787 Dreamliner.

Zanzibar (ZNZ)

From 14 June to 6 September 2026, Etihad will operate four weekly services to Zanzibar, using its Airbus A320 aircraft with both Business and Economy cabins. Read the full details including schedule here.

  2. There are four routes I am keen to see Etihad revive: San Francisco (SFO), Edinburgh (EDI), Cape Town (CPT) and Tehran (IKA). The new destinations on my wish list are Porto (OPO), Perth (PER) and Stockholm (ARN).
