UPDATED: Discounted COVID-19 tests in Abu Dhabi
Etihad is now offering discounted COVID-19 PCR tests to all passengers departing Abu Dhabi. The replaces the free tests that been previously available.
The discounted tests are available from at G42 and LifeDx clinics across the UAE.
Tests start from AED 55, and if you’re flying in First or Business, you can arrange for your sample to be collected from home.

(Expired) Free COVID-19 test now included for all Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi
Etihad Airways has partnered with Life Dx to include a free COVID-19 test for all passengers departing Abu Dhabi.
From 1 October 2020 until 31 March 2021 all passengers flying from Abu Dhabi will be able to book a free COVID-19 test.
The offer includes passengers travelling on Etihad Guest redemption bookings but excludes travellers flying to destinations in China.
First and Business Class passengers have the added convenience of booking an at-home test.
How to book your free COVID-19 test
The first step is to book your flight with Etihad.
Depending on your destination, your COVID-19 test needs to completed between 48 and 96 hours before departure. Check the Etihad travel destination guides to confirm the exact requirements for your trip.
Once you have an Etihad booking reference, you can book your test appointment with Life Dx directly. There are three options for making the booking.

- By telephone: 8000 190001
You can choose where you want to book an appointment. Life Dx offers several testing locations in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai.
It is not possible to book the at-home test via the online portal. First and Business Class passenger will therefore need to phone Life Dx to schedule their at-home test.
Life Dx will send your test results to your registered email and phone number within 24 hours. Don’t forget to take a print out of the negative result as you will need that to check-in at the airport.
Alternative testing options
It is possible to arrange a COVID-19 test separately if preferred.
Etihad Airways has also collaborated with SEHA and Mediclinic Middle East to offer pre-departure testing. Travellers flying from Abu Dhabi have the option of arranging PCR tests either at home or selected facilities across the UAE.
However, keep in mind that the SEHA or Mediclinic tests are not free. You will have to cover the cost of the test yourself.

By offering at home COVID-19 testing, Etihad has found a smart way of taking some of the friction out of travelling during a global pandemic.
