Emirates Skywards launches new on-demand taxi app

Emirates Skywards Cabforce App ScreenshotsEmirates Skywards has launched a new on-demand taxi app. The app is a partnership with Cabforce. Travellers can use the app to access vehicles from Careem, Cabify, Taksee and others all in one place.

Skywards members using the app will be able to earn miles on taxi bookings in 27 countries across 117 cities around the world.

The earning rate is 1 Skywards Mile for every 2 USD or the equivalent spent on the app. A future update will make it possible to pay for rides using Skywards Miles.

You can download Emirates Skywards Cabforce app for iOS from the App Store and Android from Google Play.

Should you switch to Emirates Skywards Cabforce?

Cabforce may not be the right on-demand taxi app for UAE based Skywards members, at least for local trips. Why?

  • The earning rate of 1 Skywards Mile for every 2 USD spend is the same available directly on Careem.
  • There appear to be more cars available and more options on the Careem app. We could not book a car from Abu Dhabi this morning while there were plenty of cars available on Careem.

The Emirates Skywards Cabforce may make more useful while travelling away from the UAE. For example, it looks possible to book black cabs in London on the app. Earning a few Skywards Miles for each ride will lessen the sting of London cab costs.
