Etihad Guest has returned with a bonus on point transfers from other loyalty programmes. You can earn a bonus of up to 40% more Etihad Guest Miles on point transfers from a limited number of partners until 31 October 2024.
The promotion is tiered. The more points you transfer, the bigger the bonus. To trigger the largest bonus, you must transfer over 50,000 miles.
- 20% Bonus Miles – Transfer 1,000 – 9,999 points
- 30% Bonus Miles – Transfer 10,000 – 49,999 points
- 40% Bonus Miles – Transfer 50,000 plus points
Which transfer partners are eligible for bonus miles?
Points can be transferred to Etihad Guest from 47 other loyalty programmes. The partners include various loyalty programmes in hotel and travel, retail and shopping, banking, and financial services.
However, the 40% bonus is only available on point transfers from the following 23 loyalty partners:
- ADCB TouchPoints
- ALL – Accor Live Limitless
- Bank of New Zealand – BNZ Points
- BSF Jana Rewards
- China CITIC Bank Points
- CIMB
- Citibank
- Commonwealth Bank
- CTBC Bank
- Dubai Islamic Bank Wala’a Rewards
- Emirates NBD Plus Points
- Emirates Islamic EI SmartMiles
- FAB Rewards
- Hyundai Amex Centurion
- Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts – IHG Rewards Club Points
- KTC FOREVER points
- Mashreq Vantage points
- OCBC STACK
- Ping An WanLiTong
- Ramp Rewards
- Shangri-La Hotels
- Standard Chartered – UAE
- Virgin Money Australia
Why is this useful?
There are many loyalty programmes in the UAE. It is very easy to build up small balances in multiple programmes. Transferring to Etihad Guest is a good way to pool several small balances that might have otherwise gone unused.
For instance, I earn a small number of ADCB Touchpoints but never enough to do anything interesting. These ADCB Touchpoints can be transferred to Etihad Guest at any time. However, my approach is to sit on the points and wait until Etihad Guest offers a transfer bonus. This typically happens a couple of times a year.
