This post includes everything you need to know to transfer your credit card, hotel and loyalty points from other programmes to Etihad Guest.
Why transfer points to Etihad Guest?
Etihad Guest will let you convert credit card, hotel and loyalty points from 60 partners into Etihad Guest miles.
This is an excellent way to rescue small balances that might have otherwise gone unused. Points transfers can also be helpful if you find yourself short of the miles needed to book a reward flight.
An extra benefit is that point transfers qualify as account activity. That means transferring even a small number of loyalty points into Etihad Guest Miles extends the validity of your existing miles by an additional 18 months.
What partners can you transfer points from?
Only about half of the 60 transfer partners are relevant to residents in the UAE. The partners fall into three main categories.

How do you transfer points?

There are three steps to transferring points from other loyalty programmes to Etihad Guest.
- Log into the loyalty programme you want to transfer points from.
- Look for the option to redeem or transfer points to other programmes.
- Select Etihad Guest and then enter the number of points you want to redeem. In most cases, you will also need to provide your Etihad Guest membership number.
The minimum number of points required for a transfer to Etihad Guest will vary considerably between programmes. The conversion rate of points to miles will also differ.
Some programmes add a bonus when you convert a certain number of points to miles. For instance, Marriott Bonvoy will add an extra 5,000 miles for every 60,000 points you transfer to airline miles.
How long does it take points to transfer to Etihad Guest?
The amount of time it takes for point transfers to appear on your Etihad Guest balance will vary between programmes. Some transfers are nearly instantaneous, while others can take up to ten days.
If you need to top up your balance for a redemption, you can not rely on the transferred points appearing quickly, so plan accordingly.
Transfer miles between friends and family
Last year, Etihad Guest introduced a new option called ‘shareable miles’. This allows members to transfer miles between friends and family.
