Emirates Skywards is offering a Double Tier Miles bonus on all Emirates and flydubai flights for a limited time.
You need to register and book flights by 4 May 2025. The eligible travel period is from 1 May – 20 June 2025. Register using this link.
This is something we haven’t seen in a while. The last time I recall a Double Tier Miles offer was in February 2020 at the start of the COVID pandemic.
I love Double Tier Miles promotions. They can help you move up a tier faster or just make it easier to renew your existing status.
What fares are eligible?
You can earn the Double Tier on all cabin classes with both Emirates and flydubai.
All fare types are eligible, even the cheapest Special and Saver fares on Emirates and Lite and Value fares on flydubai. This is different from previous Double Tier Miles promotions, where only the most expensive flights were.
All booking channels, including travel agents, are eligible for the bonus.
How is the Double Tier miles bonus calculated?
The Double Tier miles bonus is calculated based on the total Tier miles earned for your cabin and fare type. Bonus Tier miles, such as those earned from a Skywards+ premium subscription, are excluded from the calculation.
Will existing bookings earn Double Tier miles?
No, existing bookings do not qualify for the Double Tier points. Although I would register anyway, you may get lucky, as sometimes what is in the terms and conditions and what actually happens do not always match up.
If you have a flexible booking and fares have not risen since you booked, you could consider cancelling your trip and rebooking to take advantage of the Double Tier Miles offer.
Is this a sign of a slowdown in air travel?
It is curious to see Emirates Skywards running such a generous Tier Miles promotion. The last time we saw something similar was at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I do wonder if this is a sign of softening demand in light of the economic uncertainty.
