Plaza Premium has opened its first lounge in Dubai International Airport. The large lounge is located in Concourse A at Terminal 3. As with most Dubai lounges, it is open 24 hours a day.
Terminal 3 at Dubai is used solely by Emirates. The new lounge is a very useful addition for anyone without access to Emirates’ premium lounges or travelling with more family than they can guest.
That group includes anyone flying on a ‘Special’ fare in Business Class. Emirates’ Special fares do not include complimentary lounge access.
One of the unique features of the lounge is its four Private Family Suites. These have room for up to six guests. The suites come with butler service included. The lounge also has what looks like a well-equipped playroom to keep little flyers occupied.
Accessing the Plaza Premium lounge in Dubai
Some UAE based expats will be able to access the lounge for free using a local credit card. Anyone with a Visa Infinite or World Elite Mastercard can visit the lounge using their Lounge Key perk.
The lounge participates in the following airport lounge programmes:
- Priority Pass
- Lounge Club
- Dragon Pass
- Lounge Key
The lounge is not yet showing on the Lounge Key app. However, I was assured by Plaza Premium staff in Dubai that Lounge Key members are able to access the lounge using an eligible Visa or Mastercard.
Pay for entry
It is possible to pay to access the lounge. Three hours pre-booked online will cost AED 199. Walk-in guests will pay a little more.
This is pretty good value when you consider the alternatives in Terminal 3. Emirates Skywards members without status pay AED 480 to access any of the Emirates Business Class lounges.
If you are tempted by the Private Family Suites it will cost around AED 1608 for three hours booked when booked online.
Review coming soon
The new lounge looks very attractive. It is a great addition to the lounge lineup Terminal 3, particularly for those of us without Emirates status. There will be a full review of the lounge coming soon.
