The importance of Tier Miles
Members of Etihad Guest collect both Guest Miles and Tier Miles. Guest Miles can be used to book reward flights on Etihad Airways and up to 22 partner airlines.
However, Tier Miles are crucial as they determine elite status within Etihad Guest. Etihad Guest’s three elite Tiers of Silver, Gold and Platinum deliver a host of travel privileges such as free seat selection, lounge access and excess baggage allowances.
How many Etihad Guest Tier Miles can you earn from spending on bank cards?
There is an annual cap on the number of Etihad Guest Tier Miles you can earn from card spend. You can earn anything from 15,000 to 50,000 Tier Miles a year from co-brand bank cards.

A leap towards Platinum Tier status
Unfortunately, no card pays enough Tier Miles for you to earn or retain Platinum Tier, the top elite status in Etihad Guest. However, Tier Miles from card spend effectively reduces the number of Tier Miles you need to earn from flying.
In fact, earning 50,000 Tier Miles in a year from card spending would reduce the threshold to attain Platinum Tier in the first place by a third and cut the renewal requirement in half.
