Over the last 18 months, Emirates and flydubai have gradually strengthened their commercial partnership. That relationship is now getting a little closer. The two airlines recently announced that ten flydubai routes will switch terminals at Dubai International Airport. The move took place on 2 December 2018.
The ten flydubai destinations moving to Terminal 3 are Belgrade, Bishkek, Bucharest, Catania, Helsinki, Krakow, Mineralnye Vody, Prague, Rostov-on-Don, Salalah and Zagreb.
flydubai’s flies 737 MAX 8 aircraft on all of these routes with the exception of Salalah. The MAX 8 is flydubai’s newest aircraft. It features ten fully flat bed seats in Business Class.
Emirates codeshares with flydubai on all ten routes switching to terminal 3. The transfer should be a big help to connecting passengers. The ride on the airside shuttle bus between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 can take up to 40 minutes. They should now experience an easier and faster journey through the airport with both airlines operating out of the same terminal.
flydubai passengers travelling in Business Class will be able to use the fast-track facilities and Emirates Business Class lounges in Terminal 3.
During the summer of 2019 more flydubai destinations are expected to switch terminals. This should have the added beneit of freeing up more capacity in Terminal 2 for additional flydubai routes to launch.
