Etihad Airways is adding Kabul to its network from 18 December 2025, marking the 31st new route announced this year.
The new service will operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A320 with eight Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats.
The route reestablishes a direct air link between Abu Dhabi and Kabul. It is likely to be a popular service. The UAE is home to around 300,000 Afghan expats, one of the largest Afghan communities in the Gulf.
Flight Schedule
The outbound flight is scheduled at 3 hours exactly while the return is blocked at 3h 30m. The schedule:
EY310
Depart Abu Dhabi at 14:45
Arrive Kabul at 18:15
EY311
Depart Kabul at 19:10
Arrive Abu Dhabi at 22:10
Booking with Etihad Guest Miles
While cash tickets are already on sale on eitihad.com no Etihad GuestSeats appear to be available to book at this time.
Kabul has not been added to the Etihad Guest Miles calculator yet. Once it is this post will be updated with GuestSeat Business and Economy redemption prices.
Growing fast
The announcement of the new Kabul route comes as Etihad crosses a significant milestone. The airline is now operating 300 flights per day. That is a 20% increase year-on-year making Etihad one of the fastest growing airlines in the world.
There is still two more months until the end of the year. I am curious to see what additional are revealed before 2025 wraps up.
