Etihad Airways has taken delivery of its sixth A350. The airline has another 14 of this aircraft type on order.

After the A380, the A350 is the largest capacity aircraft in the airline’s fleet. The plane can accommodate up to 371 passengers. It also features Etihad’s newest business class seat, which features a privacy door.
Theoretically, the A350s should be replacing the nine 777s in the fleet. However, at the rate Etihad is growing, I suspect we will continue to see the 777s fly for a little longer.
The dated cabins and seats onboard the 777s are not popular with passengers. Although I feel Etihad has done a reasonable job of refreshing the cabins. You can read about my experience on one of these 777s here.
Business Class on the A350

Onboard, there are 44 Business Suites in a large single cabin. The Business Suite features a privacy door, an 18.5” touch screen and a seat that reclines into a fully flat bed. Explore what is onboard the Etihad A350 here.
Economy Class on the A350
There are 327 economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration. For passengers interested in a little more space, there are 45 Extra legroom seats, 12 Bulkhead seats, and six Exit row seats, all available to select for a fee.
Where is the A350 flying?
The arrival of the sixth aircraft means Etihad can now add Milan (MXP) to the list of destinations getting A350 service. For the summer of 2025, the A350 will be operating on the following routes from Abu Dhabi:
- Chicago (ORD)
- Delhi (DEL)
- Zurich (ZRH)
- Mumbai (BOM)
- Milan (MXP)
- Paris (CDG)
- Toronto (YYZ)
From July 2025, Etihad will launch flights to Atlanta using the A350. This route will be Etihad’s sixth gateway in North America and one of the 16 new routes the airline is launching this year.
Where next?
I am pleased to see the A350 fleet expanding. The A350 is my favourite aircraft in the fleet. Not only does the aircraft look elegant on the outside, but the quieter, brighter cabins feel more spacious and are a pleasure to fly in for passengers. I am looking forward to Etihad adding more A350 destinations to their network as more aircraft are delivered.
I really like the look of the Business Suite. Hope they add more destinations soon.
